This reminds me of the insistence of life we see in beach sand dunes. I’ve tried to capture that, but haven’t yet succeeded.
I can see how this would be reminiscent of life clinging to sand dunes but of course here it is only resting. In another month or two this scene will look much different. I first came aware of that insistence of life many years ago after noticing plants growing in the tiny teaspoon sized depressions in the limestone bedrock on the shore of Lake Erie.
