4:23 AM, Walking Down the Lane Three Days after Supermoon

Up at 4:00 this morning to look for Leonid meteors…moonlight, mist, and low hourly rate meant I didn’t see any before I lost interest.  The landscape, on the other hand, was beautifully surreal under the misty moonlight so I took a few photographs instead.  I have tried to match the photograph to the experience; if it looks dark and lacking in contrast… it was.

  1. It looks like it was one of those mornings you would have loved navigating the curvy roads of Holmes county heading north. Much nicer navigating the curvy paths by foot. Forgot about the Leonids. But I didn’t see anything below 1st magnitude in my quick survey as I pulled out of the garage.

    1. You know, I really don’t miss that drive every morning…I do enjoy the morning walk much more. I think the last Leonid shower that was close to storm was in 1998. It was very foggy but they lit it up like lightning. I remember thinking the light was from car headlights coming around the corner and then realizing that the light was from the meteors.
