The Palmer Farm, A Forty Year Diptych

The upper photograph was made sometime in the late winter or early spring of 1973 on Kodak Tri-X loaded in a Pentax SP 500, probably with a 50 mm prime lens…I think that was all I had; The lower one was made today with a Nikon D7000 and an 18-55 mm zoom… forty years later.  I tried to match the lighting, perspective, and location the best I could.  A church, a road, and a couple of signs have appeared along with some changes in the trees on the hill.  Parts of the barn, the cattle and fences are gone.  So are the Palmers.
