  1. Nice. I’ve been wanting to visit Harper’s Ferry, but have not yet. My recent readings on Lee’s Maryland Campaign certainly emphasize the importance of what happened there. Looks like an interesting town.


    1. We scaled back the Brothers trip this year to a purely road trip and went east, then south along the Appalachians. Harpers Ferry was the first destination, mainly because of my youngest brother’s interest in visiting the Appalachian Trail headquarters. We were there very early on Sunday morning so the place was deserted. It is a beautiful little town and National Park. Lots of history. There is a railroad on the north side that has considerable traffic. The confluence of two major rivers. I highly recommend it and want to go back sometime and actually go into the buildings and spend some time with the history.
